A Midsummer Night's Dream — Act 2, Scene 1: A wood near Athens.

In the wood, Puck meets a fairy and jokes about the quarrel between Oberon and Titania, which has upset the natural world because Titania refuses to give Oberon the Indian changeling boy he wants. Oberon and Titania then appear and argue sharply about the child and about their jealous disputes. Titania leaves, and Oberon decides to punish her by using a magical flower whose juice will make someone fall in love with the first creature seen on waking. Puck brings the flower, and Oberon sends him to charm a young Athenian man in the wood. Before they part, Oberon hears Demetrius and Helena arguing, then stays hidden.
