A Midsummer Night's Dream — Act 3, Scene 1: The wood. TITANIA lying asleep.

In the wood, Quince brings Bottom and the other tradesmen to rehearse their play, and they argue over how to handle the killing, the lion, the moonlight, and the wall in a way that will not frighten the audience. Puck watches their clumsy performance, then slips away after Bottom leaves and returns with an ass’s head on him. The company panics and runs off, leaving Bottom alone and unaware of his change. He sings to himself, which wakes Titania, still under Oberon’s spell. She falls at once in love with Bottom, calls her fairies to serve him, and orders them to lead him to her bower.
