All's Well That Ends Well — Act 2, Scene 2: Rousillon. The COUNT's palace.

Back in Rousillon, the Countess speaks playfully with her Clown and tests his wit by asking whether he is fit for court life. He answers with long, comic comparisons, showing that he can turn almost any question into a joke. The Countess teases him about his manners and his recent whipping, then laughs at his quick responses. After enjoying the exchange, she turns serious and gives him a message and some small business to carry to Helena. She tells him to ask Helena for an immediate answer and to send her greetings to her kinsmen and to Bertram, then sends the Clown away at once.
