All's Well That Ends Well — Act 4, Scene 1: Without the Florentine camp.

The Second French Lord waits with soldiers in ambush outside the Florentine camp, preparing to trick Parolles by speaking nonsense so he will think they are foreign enemies. When Parolles arrives alone, he worries that his reputation is damaged and panics over how to explain his failed attempt to recover the drum. The soldiers attack, blindfold, and threaten him. Under pressure, Parolles quickly gives in and promises to reveal the camp’s secrets if his life is spared. The soldiers decide to keep him hoodwinked and send word to the Count Rousillon and Bertram’s brother about their capture of the cowardly “woodcock.”
