Antony and Cleopatra — Act 1, Scene 1: Alexandria. A room in CLEOPATRA's palace.

In Cleopatra’s palace in Alexandria, Philo and Demetrius watch Antony arrive with Cleopatra and her attendants, and Philo bitterly remarks that the great Roman general has been reduced to a lover under Cleopatra’s spell. Cleopatra teases Antony about the strength of his love, and an attendant brings news from Rome. Cleopatra urges Antony to listen, suggesting that Fulvia and Caesar have sent commands for him to leave Egypt. Antony responds by dismissing Rome and praising his life with Cleopatra, then embraces her. He decides to spend the night wandering the city with her instead of hearing more formal business, and they leave together while the observers worry about how far Antony has changed.
