Antony and Cleopatra — Act 3, Scene 7: Near Actium. MARK ANTONY's camp.

Cleopatra argues with Enobarbus after he criticizes her presence in the war, saying she will not be absent from the fighting and will appear there as queen. Antony arrives with Canidius and asks about Caesar’s rapid advance, then announces that he will fight by sea. Enobarbus and Canidius both warn that this is the wrong choice, since Caesar’s ships are better prepared and Antony’s land forces are stronger, but Antony refuses to change his mind. Cleopatra boasts that her fleet is strong and supports the plan. A messenger then reports that Caesar has already taken Toryne, and Antony quickly orders his land troops to Canidius while he goes to his ship.
