Antony and Cleopatra — Act 4, Scene 9: OCTAVIUS CAESAR's camp.

At Caesar’s camp, three sentinels discuss the hour and the coming battle before Enobarbus appears alone in the night. He speaks in deep remorse, calling on the moon and the darkness as witnesses to his shame for abandoning Antony. He begs Antony’s forgiveness and says he wants only to be remembered as a deserter, then collapses and dies. The soldiers first think he has fainted and try to wake him, but they realize he is dead. Hearing drums in the distance, they decide to carry his body to the court of guard because he is an important man and their watch has ended.
