As You Like It — Act 3, Scene 5: Another part of the forest.

Rosalind, Celia, and Corin watch Silvius plead with Phebe not to reject him so harshly. Phebe answers that she will not hurt him, but she speaks proudly and says his love cannot wound her. Rosalind steps in and sharply rebukes Phebe for her scorn, mocking her looks and telling her to accept Silvius’s devotion instead of acting superior. Phebe is struck by Rosalind’s words and becomes fascinated with the disguised youth. After Rosalind, Celia, and Corin leave, Phebe admits that she has been moved by this stranger’s speech, softens toward Silvius, and asks him to carry a bitter letter to the youth who insulted her.
