Cymbeline — Act 3, Scene 5: A room in Cymbeline's palace.

After Lucius leaves, Cymbeline turns to the court’s urgent response to Rome’s threat, then asks where Imogen is because she has not appeared to greet the ambassador or do her duty. The Queen excuses her, saying she has been withdrawn and is delicate, but an attendant reports that her chambers are locked and she cannot be found. Cymbeline grows alarmed and leaves to search. The Queen, Cloten, and Pisanio separately react to her absence: the Queen privately hopes Imogen is dead or disgraced, Cloten learns she has fled and rages at Pisanio, and Pisanio gives him Imogen’s clothes and lies that she has gone to Milford Haven. Cloten then plans to follow her.
