Cymbeline — Act 4, Scene 1: Wales: near the cave of Belarius.

Cloten arrives near the meeting place that Pisanio described and prepares to act on his plan against Posthumus and Imogen. Wearing Pisanio’s clothes, he checks himself in a self-satisfied way and convinces himself that he is as good a match for Imogen as Posthumus, or better in birth and strength. He rages that Imogen still loves Posthumus despite this. Cloten then imagines killing Posthumus, forcing himself on Imogen, cutting up Posthumus’s clothes, and sending Imogen home to her father. He also assumes his mother will smooth over any anger from Cymbeline. Finally, he arms himself, trusts his horse is secure, and goes toward the supposed meeting.
