Love's Labour's Lost — Act 1, Scene 2: The same.

Don Adriano de Armado talks with his page Moth, who continually answers him with sharp wordplay and exposes the comedy of Armado’s grand language. Armado admits he is supposed to study for three years at the king’s court, but Moth reduces the idea to nonsense and mocks his arithmetic and seriousness. Armado then confesses that he is in love with a poor country girl he met in the park and asks Moth for examples of great men who loved. Dull arrives with Costard and Jaquenetta, bringing the king’s order to detain Costard and keep Jaquenetta at the park. After Jaquenetta leaves, Armado scolds Costard, sends him away in custody, and ends alone, lamenting love and turning to poetry.
