Love's Labour's Lost — Act 3, Scene 1: The same.

Don Adriano de Armado, still absorbed in his love for Jaquenetta, has Moth sing and mock his attempts at courtly behavior. Armado sends Moth to fetch Costard so he can carry a letter to the country girl. When Costard arrives, he and Moth trade riddling jokes about a broken shin and l’envoy, which Armado partly fails to follow. Armado then frees Costard from custody and gives him the letter for Jaquenetta. After Armado leaves, Costard dwells on the word “remuneration,” until Biron appears and asks him to deliver a sealed message to Rosaline, one of the French princess’s ladies. Biron then soliloquizes on his own unwilling love and decides to serve it openly.
