Much Ado About Nothing — Act 3, Scene 1: LEONATO'S garden.

In Leonato’s garden, Hero sends Margaret to bring Beatrice to the parlor so she can overhear a planned conversation. Hero tells Ursula that, once Beatrice is hidden nearby, they should pretend to discuss only Benedick and speak as if he is deeply in love with Beatrice. When Beatrice listens from the bower, Hero and Ursula praise Benedick as noble and worthy while describing Beatrice as proud, mocking, and impossible to please. Their words convince Beatrice that Benedick truly loves her. After Hero and Ursula leave, Beatrice comes forward, admits she has been shamed by what she heard, and decides to return Benedick’s love.
