The First part of King Henry the Fourth — Act 5, Scene 1: KING HENRY IV's camp near Shrewsbury.

At Shrewsbury, King Henry and his supporters wait in camp when Worcester and Vernon arrive from the rebels. Henry rebukes Worcester for helping cause the war and urges the rebels to leave their defiance and return to obedience. Worcester answers that he did not seek conflict and that Henry broke faith with the Percys after they had helped bring him to power. Henry dismisses this as an excuse for rebellion. Prince Henry then speaks for the king, praising Hotspur’s courage and offering to meet him in single combat to spare both armies bloodshed. The king sends Worcester back with an offer of pardon. After the others leave, Falstaff jokes with Prince Henry about battlefield friendship and then dismisses honour as useless before he goes.
