The First part of King Henry the Sixth — Act 3, Scene 3: The plains near Rouen.

After Rouen is recovered, Joan comforts Charles, the Bastard of Orleans, and Alencon and tells them not to lose heart. She proposes a new plan: win over the Duke of Burgundy with gentle persuasion and flattery. When Talbot and his English forces pass by, Burgundy follows with his own men, and Joan calls for a parley. She appeals to his love of France, points to the ruin caused by war, and warns him that the English will use him for their own advantage. Burgundy is moved, abandons Talbot, and joins Charles. The French welcome him, praise Joan’s skill, and leave together to continue the fight.
