The First part of King Henry the Sixth — Act 4, Scene 1: Paris. A hall of state.

In Paris, King Henry is crowned, and Gloucester orders the governor to swear loyalty to Henry and reject all enemies of his rule. Fastolfe arrives with a letter from Burgundy, and Talbot tears off his garter and denounces him as a coward for fleeing at Patay. Henry banishes Fastolfe. Gloucester then reads Burgundy’s letter and learns he has left Henry’s side and joined Charles in France, which shocks the king. Henry sends Talbot to confront Burgundy. Afterward, Vernon and Basset appear and renew their quarrel over York and Somerset, each demanding combat over insults tied to their masters’ roses. Henry stops them and tries to enforce peace.
