The First part of King Henry the Sixth — Act 5, Scene 2: France. Plains in Anjou.

Charles, Burgundy, Alencon, the Bastard of Orleans, Reignier, and Joan la Pucelle gather with their forces after hearing that Parisians may be turning back to the French side. Alencon urges Charles to march on Paris at once, while Joan promises that if the city comes over to them, it will be spared, but if not, it will suffer destruction. A scout then arrives with worse news: the English army, which had been split into two, has joined together and is coming immediately to fight. Charles prepares for battle, Burgundy dismisses fear, and Joan encourages him to press the attack and claim France’s victory.
