The Life and Death of Julius Caesar — Act 2, Scene 4: Another part of the same street, before the house of BRUTUS.

Portia sends Lucius to the senate house to report back on Brutus and on Caesar’s condition, but she struggles to hide her anxiety and can barely say what she means. She asks Lucius to watch carefully what Caesar does and who comes to him, since Brutus has gone out looking sick. Hearing a noise from the direction of the Capitol, she worries something may be happening there. The Soothsayer then appears, says he is going to wait for Caesar, and admits he fears harm may come to him. After he leaves, Portia speaks of her own weakness, prays for Brutus, and sends Lucius back to pretend that she is cheerful while he learns what Brutus says.
