At Bristol before the castle, Bolingbroke arrives with York, Northumberland, Ross, Percy, Willoughby, and the captured Bushy and Green. He orders the prisoners brought forward and publicly explains that they deserve death because they have corrupted King Richard, separated him from the queen, and used their influence to enrich themselves while Bolingbroke suffered banishment and the loss of his lands. He then hands them over for execution. Bushy and Green face death with defiance, and Northumberland leads them away. Bolingbroke then asks York to see that the queen is treated kindly and sends her his greetings. York says he has already sent a servant with Bolingbroke’s letters. Bolingbroke and the lords leave to continue their military business.
