The Life of King Henry the Fifth — Act 2, Scene 0: PROLOGUE

The Chorus returns to describe England preparing for war: the young men are excited, luxuries are put aside, horses and armor become important, and everyone is focused on honor and the coming campaign. France, hearing of this great force, grows afraid and tries to block England’s plans. The Chorus then praises England’s greatness but points out its weakness, saying French influence has found corrupt men inside the kingdom. He names the conspirators as Cambridge, Scroop, and Grey, who have taken French money and planned treason against Henry. The Chorus ends by shifting the action to Southampton and asking the audience for patience.
