The Merry Wives of Windsor — Act 1, Scene 3: A room in the Garter Inn.

At the Garter Inn, Falstaff tells the Host he must dismiss some of his followers, and the Host eagerly keeps Bardolph to work in the taproom. Falstaff sends Bardolph off and then complains that his companions have drained his money. He turns to Pistol, Nym, and Robin and explains his new plan: he intends to court Mistress Ford and Mistress Page because both women seem receptive and wealthy. He gives letters to be delivered to each woman, while Pistol and Nym trade bitter jokes and resentments. After Falstaff leaves with Robin, Pistol and Nym decide to answer his scheme by informing Ford and Page about it.
