The Merry Wives of Windsor — Act 3, Scene 3: A room in FORD'S house.

Mistress Ford and Mistress Page prepare a large buck-basket and instruct two servants to carry it away to the laundress at Datchet-mead when called. Robin arrives and reports that Falstaff has entered by the back door and wants Mistress Ford alone. They hide the servants and welcome Falstaff, who declares his love and flirts with Mistress Ford. When Robin warns that Mistress Page is coming with Ford nearby, Falstaff hides behind the arras, then the women pretend Mistress Page has discovered him and warn of Ford’s search. Falstaff jumps into the basket. Ford arrives with Page, Caius, and Evans, searches the house, and leaves in humiliation after the basket is carried off.
