The Second part of King Henry the Sixth — Act 4, Scene 7: London. Smithfield.

At Smithfield, Cade’s rebels win the fight and Matthew Goffe is killed. Cade immediately orders his men to tear down the Savoy and the inns of court, then declares that his own mouth will serve as England’s parliament and that all records should be burned. A messenger brings in Lord Say, whom Cade accuses of selling out French lands, favoring learning, and oppressing the common people. Say defends himself and pleads for his life, but Cade condemns him anyway. He sends Say away to be beheaded and later has Say’s and Sir James Cromer’s heads brought back. Cade then boasts that he will rule through force and spoil the city.
