The Taming of the Shrew — Act 4, Scene 5: A public road.

Petruchio and Katharina travel toward Baptista’s house with Hortensio and the servants, and Petruchio begins a test of obedience by insisting the bright sun is the moon. Katharina first argues with him, but Hortensio warns her to agree if they want to continue. She finally gives in and says she will accept whatever name Petruchio chooses. When they meet an old man on the road, Petruchio and Katharina mistake him for Vincentio, Lucentio’s father, and play along with the confusion. The real Vincentio identifies himself and says he is going to Padua to see his son. Petruchio pretends this is all true and leads him off with the group.
