The Third part of King Henry the Sixth — Act 2, Scene 1: A plain near Mortimer's Cross in Herefordshire.

Edward and Richard march on after York’s death, with Edward worrying whether their father escaped Clifford and Northumberland. Richard is still unable to rejoice because he does not know York’s fate, but then he and Edward see a strange sight of three suns in the sky, which they take as a sign connected to their cause. A messenger arrives and confirms that York was killed by Clifford and Queen Margaret after being mocked and crowned in insult, with Rutland’s blood used in the cruelty. Warwick then enters with Montague and explains how he gathered forces, fought the queen’s army at Saint Albans, and now joins them again to continue the campaign.
