The Third part of King Henry the Sixth — Act 3, Scene 2: London. The palace.

In the palace at London, King Edward IV hears Lady Grey plead for the return of her husband’s lands, and he at first seems willing to help her. While Gloucester and Clarence trade asides, Edward turns the discussion into a flirtation, questioning her about her children and finally offering the lands only if she will accept his courtship. Lady Grey refuses to trade her honesty for favor, but Edward presses her until he declares he wants her as his queen. Before the others can react, a nobleman reports that Henry has been captured and brought to the palace gate. Edward orders him sent to the Tower and then reflects alone on his own secret ambitions and methods.
