The Third part of King Henry the Sixth — Act 4, Scene 4: London. The palace.

Queen Elizabeth and Rivers meet in alarm after news that King Edward has been captured. Elizabeth explains that Edward was not just defeated in battle but taken prisoner, possibly through betrayal or a sudden surprise, and that he has been handed over to the Bishop of York, Warwick’s brother. Rivers grieves, while Elizabeth struggles to stay hopeful for the sake of Edward’s child growing in her womb. She then says Warwick is marching toward London to restore Henry to the throne, which will endanger Edward’s supporters. To protect her unborn heir, she decides to flee at once to sanctuary, and she and Rivers leave in haste.
