The Third part of King Henry the Sixth — Act 4, Scene 8: London. The palace.

At the palace, Warwick sends Clarence, Montague, Oxford, and others away to raise support for Henry’s cause across the counties, while Henry remains behind with Exeter. Warwick promises to gather friends in Warwickshire and meet the others at Coventry. After the nobles leave, Henry tells Exeter that he believes his mild rule should have won him loyalty, since he has shown pity, mercy, and restraint. Their talk is interrupted by shouts for Lancaster, and Edward suddenly enters with Gloucester and soldiers. Edward arrests Henry, orders him sent to the Tower, and then leads his men toward Coventry to catch Warwick before his forces can gather.
