The Tragedy of Coriolanus — Act 1, Scene 6: Near the camp of Cominius.

Near Corioli, Cominius rallies Roman soldiers after a hard fight and tells them they have retreated honorably, not weakly. A messenger arrives with news that the citizens of Corioli have come out to battle Lartius and Marcius, but Cominius thinks the report is late. Coriolanus then enters, covered in blood, and Cominius greets him as though he might be dead or delayed too long. Marcius asks after Titus Lartius and urges Cominius to set him against Aufidius and the main Volscian force at once. Cominius agrees, and Marcius calls for volunteers. The soldiers respond eagerly, praising him and raising their weapons as Cominius orders them to march.
