The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark — Act 3, Scene 4: The Queen's closet.

In Gertrude’s closet, Polonius hides behind the arras after telling the queen to speak firmly to Hamlet. Hamlet enters and immediately quarrels with Gertrude, blaming her for betraying his father by marrying Claudius. He forces her to face the moral ugliness of her actions, compares his dead father’s nobility with Claudius’s corruption, and grows increasingly intense. When Gertrude cries out for help, Polonius calls from behind the curtain, and Hamlet stabs through the arras, killing him. Hamlet then discovers that he has killed Polonius, continues to rebuke Gertrude, and is visited by the ghost, which only he can see. The ghost urges him to speak to his mother gently, and Hamlet ends by dragging Polonius away.
