Titus Andronicus — Act 2, Scene 3: A lonely part of the forest.

In a lonely part of the forest, Aaron hides a bag of gold and plans to use it for another trick. Tamora arrives, eager for a private pleasure in the woods, but Aaron tells her he is thinking of revenge, not love. He gives her a forged letter and sends her to meet Bassianus. When Bassianus and Lavinia enter, Tamora insults them, and Demetrius and Chiron soon appear. At Tamora’s urging, the brothers kill Bassianus and drag Lavinia away. Aaron then lures Quintus and Martius to a pit where they find Bassianus’s body. Saturninus arrives, reads the planted letter, and orders Quintus and Martius imprisoned while Titus pleads for them.
