Troilus and Cressida — Act 5, Scene 2: The Grecian camp. Before Calchas' tent.

At Calchas’s tent in the Grecian camp, Diomedes comes to collect Cressida, while Troilus and Ulysses hide nearby with Thersites. Diomedes and Cressida speak privately, and their exchange quickly turns intimate and flirtatious. Diomedes presses her to remember her promise, and Cressida gives him a sleeve as a token, even while Troilus watches in anguish. She then asks Diomedes to come again and leaves him with the promise of another meeting. After he goes, Troilus, stunned by what he has seen, struggles to deny it and finally erupts into bitter certainty about her betrayal. Aeneas arrives to fetch him back to Troy, and Troilus departs with Ulysses.
