Troilus and Cressida — Act 5, Scene 11: Another part of the plains.

Aeneas and the Trojans remain on the battlefield and try to hold their ground, but Troilus arrives with the news that Hector is dead and has been dragged behind Achilles’ horse. He curses the gods, imagines the shock this will bring to Priam and Hecuba, and orders the Trojans to march back to Troy with the hope of revenge hidden inside their grief. When Pandarus tries to speak to him, Troilus angrily insults him and drives him off. Left alone, Pandarus complains bitterly that go-betweens are despised once they have served their purpose, and he ends by mocking his own role before leaving.
