The Winter's Tale — Act 3, Scene 1: A sea-port in Sicilia.

Cleomenes and Dion return from Delphos after consulting Apollo’s oracle. They describe the place as beautiful and holy, and they are deeply impressed by the solemn sacrifice and the priests’ sacred appearance. Most of all, they are struck by the powerful voice of the oracle itself. Both men hope the message will help Queen Hermione, whose case they believe has been unfairly handled. Cleomenes says he dislikes the proclamations that have been used to force guilt onto her. Dion thinks the harshness of the situation will soon be resolved once the oracle’s sealed message is revealed. They leave to get fresh horses.
