The Winter's Tale — Act 4, Scene 2: Bohemia. The palace of POLIXENES.

Polixenes and Camillo speak privately in Bohemia. Camillo asks to return to Sicilia, saying he has been away from home for fifteen years and wants to comfort the penitent Leontes, who has sent for him. Polixenes tries to hold him back, thanking him for his service and begging him not to leave. Their talk turns from Sicilia to Polixenes’ son, Florizel, whom Camillo says he has not seen for three days and has noticed withdrawing from court. Polixenes reveals that he has learned Florizel is spending much time with a humble shepherd’s family and that the shepherd’s beautiful daughter may be involved. He asks Camillo to accompany him in disguise so they can question the shepherd.
