Antony and Cleopatra — Act 3, Scene 2: Rome. An ante-chamber in OCTAVIUS CAESAR's house.

In Rome, Agrippa and Enobarbus talk about the separation of Caesar, Antony, and Lepidus after Pompey’s departure. Enobarbus reports that Caesar, Antony, and Lepidus are finalizing matters, while Octavia is weeping at leaving Rome and Lepidus is ill after Pompey’s feast. The two men trade witty praise of Caesar and Antony, with Enobarbus insisting that Lepidus flatters both but truly favors them. Then Caesar, Antony, Lepidus, and Octavia enter to say farewell. Caesar gives Octavia to Antony, urges him to treat her well, and speaks of their marriage as a bond of peace. Antony promises no cause for distrust, and the pair exchange emotional goodbyes before leaving.
