Antony and Cleopatra — Act 3, Scene 4: Athens. A room in MARK ANTONY's house.

Antony and Octavia speak privately after their marriage. Antony complains that Caesar has started new wars against Pompey, made his will public, and spoken coldly of him, offering only grudging respect. Octavia tries to calm him, saying she is trapped between her duty to her husband and her duty to her brother, and can only pray for both of them. Antony insists that honor matters more than personal attachment and tells her that she must serve as a peacemaker between him and Caesar. He then says he will prepare for war against Caesar and tells Octavia to get ready to travel and arrange her own company.
