Antony and Cleopatra — Act 3, Scene 5: The same. Another room.

Enobarbus meets Eros and learns that Caesar and Lepidus have gone to war against Pompey. Eros explains that Caesar used Lepidus in the fighting, then refused to share the credit, accused him of old letters to Pompey, and seized him, leaving Lepidus powerless. Enobarbus responds that the world is now left with only two great powers ready to destroy each other. Eros says Antony is walking in the garden in anger, insulting Lepidus and threatening the officer who killed Pompey. He also reports that the navy is being prepared for Italy and Caesar. When Antony sends for Enobarbus, he leaves with Eros at once.
