As You Like It — Act 2, Scene 3: Before OLIVER'S house.

Orlando and Adam meet outside Oliver’s house, and Adam urgently warns his young master not to go inside. He says Oliver has heard of Orlando’s virtues and plans to burn the place where Orlando sleeps, or otherwise kill him, so the house is no longer safe. Orlando refuses to live by begging or by becoming a highway thief, but he also will not submit to his brother’s hatred. Adam then offers Orlando his savings of five hundred crowns and asks to serve him instead, explaining that he is still strong enough to travel. Orlando gratefully accepts Adam’s loyalty, and the two leave together with Adam determined to stay faithful to the end.
