Cymbeline — Act 3, Scene 3: Wales: a mountainous country with a cave.

Belarius comes out of the cave with Guiderius and Arviragus and sends the boys up into the hills for hunting. He praises their rough mountain life and compares it favorably to court, power, and military ambition, which he says bring danger and false honor. Guiderius and Arviragus respond that their simple life has kept them ignorant of the wider world, and Arviragus says they have little to speak of in old age because they have seen so little. Belarius then explains that he was once honored at Cymbeline’s court, but was banished through false accusations and has lived in the wilderness for twenty years. After the boys leave, he reflects on their noble instincts and reveals that they are actually Cymbeline’s lost sons, whom he stole and raised as his own.
