Cymbeline — Act 4, Scene 3: A room in Cymbeline's palace.

Cymbeline enters with lords and Pisanio, distressed by Imogen’s sudden absence and the report that her illness has left her in danger. He turns on Pisanio, believing he must know where she is, and threatens to force the truth out of him with torture. Pisanio insists he knows nothing and remains loyal. A first lord defends him and says Cloten is also being sought. Then the lord brings urgent news that Roman forces from Gaul have landed in Britain. Cymbeline decides to leave the matter for the moment and prepare for war. After the others exit, Pisanio reflects on his confusion, his silence from Posthumus and Imogen, and his wish to remain faithful to his country.
