Cymbeline — Act 5, Scene 3: Another part of the field.

Posthumus meets a British lord and asks about the fighting. The lord reports the Roman defeat in the narrow lane where Belarius and the two young men held off the retreating army and turned the battle. The lord leaves, and Posthumus, ashamed and exhausted, reflects on the slaughter and decides he will fight no more as a Briton or a Roman, but will seek death and think only of Imogen. British captains then arrive with news that Lucius has been captured and that the old man and his sons seemed almost supernatural. They seize Posthumus as a Roman and bring him before Cymbeline, who hands him over to a gaoler.
