Romeo and Juliet — Act 3, Scene 4: A room in Capulet's house.

In Capulet’s house, Capulet, Lady Capulet, and Paris discuss the recent deaths in Verona, which have left no time to press Juliet about marriage. Paris still hopes to win her, but Lady Capulet says Juliet is too grief-stricken to talk tonight. Capulet, confident that Juliet will obey him, decides to arrange the match himself. He tells Lady Capulet to speak to Juliet before bed and announce that she will marry Paris on Thursday. When Paris says he wishes the wedding were sooner, Capulet settles on the date and orders a small, quiet celebration because Tybalt has just been killed. The three then part for the night.
