The Comedy of Errors — Act 1, Scene 2: The Mart.

At the mart, Antipholus of Syracuse separates from the First Merchant, sending his servant Dromio back to the Centaur inn while he looks around the city. After the merchant leaves, Antipholus reflects on his search for his lost mother and brother. Dromio of Ephesus then arrives by mistake and is treated as Antipholus’s own servant. He brings a message from his mistress, Adriana, insisting that Antipholus come home to dinner, but Antipholus demands the gold he thinks he entrusted to him. When Dromio denies knowing anything about it, Antipholus strikes him, and Dromio runs off. Antipholus fears his money has been stolen and heads toward the Centaur.
