The First part of King Henry the Fourth — Act 1, Scene 3: London. The palace.

At the palace, King Henry confronts Northumberland, Worcester, Hotspur, and Blunt about the prisoners taken at Holmedon. He orders Worcester away, then demands the Scottish prisoners he believes Hotspur has refused to surrender. Northumberland tries to defend his son, while Hotspur angrily explains that he had already been irritated by the king’s messenger and that Henry’s refusal to ransom Mortimer has offended him deeply. When Henry leaves, Hotspur grows more defiant. Worcester then reveals a political plan: the Percys should keep the prisoners, use Scotland and the Archbishop of York, and work with Mortimer against the king. Hotspur eagerly approves, and the men part.
