The First part of King Henry the Fourth — Act 5, Scene 2: The rebel camp.

Worcester returns to Vernon and insists that Hotspur should not be told of the king’s generous offer, fearing Henry will never trust the Percys even if they accept it. Hotspur and Douglas arrive, and Worcester tells them the king will give battle at once. Douglas boasts that he has already sent a defiance to Henry. Worcester then reports that Prince Henry has challenged Hotspur to single combat. Vernon praises the Prince’s modest and noble manner, but Hotspur dismisses his rival and eagerly prepares to meet him. When messengers bring letters and warn that the king is advancing, Hotspur urges the men to arm, praises the justice of their cause, and leads them to battle as the trumpets sound.
