The First part of King Henry the Sixth — Act 1, Scene 5: The same.

At Orleans, Talbot chases the Dauphin in battle, but Joan la Pucelle arrives and drives the English back. Talbot returns, furious and bewildered, and challenges Joan directly, calling her a witch and attacking her in combat. They fight twice, but Joan taunts him and breaks off, saying his time is not yet come. She then leads French soldiers into the town and brings in supplies, declaring that Orleans is now theirs. Left behind, Talbot laments that his men have fled in panic and that Joan has beaten them by fear rather than true strength. He urges the English to rally, then is forced to retreat into the trenches.
