The First part of King Henry the Sixth — Act 2, Scene 3: Auvergne. The COUNTESS's castle.

At the Countess of Auvergne’s castle, the Countess prepares a trap after sending for Talbot, hoping to prove how famous he is and to capture him. When Talbot arrives, she mocks his small and unimpressive appearance and declares him her prisoner. Talbot laughs at her mistake and insists she has only seized a shadow, not his real power. To prove it, he blows his horn, and soldiers rush in, showing that his true strength lies in his men. The Countess immediately backs down, praises his greatness, and asks forgiveness. Talbot accepts her apology, and she invites him to dine in her house.
