The First part of King Henry the Sixth — Act 2, Scene 2: Orleans. Within the town.

At daybreak, Bedford orders the English pursuit to stop, and Talbot has Salisbury’s body brought forward in Orleans. He declares that he has avenged Salisbury’s death and promises to honor him with a tomb and an inscription describing the sack of the city and his murder. Talbot is pleased that the Dauphin and Joan have not been found in the fighting, and Bedford and Burgundy explain that the French likely fled in confusion during the night. A messenger then arrives from the Countess of Auvergne, who asks to meet the famous Talbot at her castle. Talbot accepts the invitation, though Bedford refuses to go with him, and Talbot leaves with a captain after speaking privately with him.
