The First part of King Henry the Sixth — Act 2, Scene 1: Before Orleans.

At Orleans at night, a sergeant posts sentinels to keep watch at the walls, while the soldiers complain about standing guard in the cold while others sleep. Talbot arrives with Bedford, Burgundy, and their forces, planning a surprise attack because the French have spent the day feasting. Talbot tells Bedford and Burgundy to scale the walls separately so one may still succeed if the other fails. The alarm sounds, and the French rush out half dressed, shocked by the assault. Charles blames Joan and the officers blame one another for the failure. Joan urges them to regroup, but another English soldier appears, and the French flee, leaving their clothes behind.
